Sam is the cybersecurity reporter at Axios in Washington. She spent the past seven years forging her way through the cyber + tech reporting worlds, starting as an intern at CNBC's San Francisco bureau the same summer the office opened. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2016, she took on the role of reporter/editor/intern supervisor at DC Inno, an American City Business Journals' property, and reported on the local innovation and startup scene in the District. Before hopping onto the cyber policy beat, she spent three years at Morning Consult covering all things tech policy (and briefly brands/advertising). Most recently she got her cyber reporting sea legs while at POLITICO writing the daily Morning Cybersecurity newsletter.
